Day 7 - Middle Splits Challenge
I'm beginning to feel the achiness of this challenge.
First, I woke up late and couldn't visit the gym for my exercise routine.
The Training
So, I warmed up with 3 sets of butterfly pose; I also completed some warm ups from this video:
Then, I got into the splits training session.
The Experience
There wasn't a lot of difference from yesterday's experience. I could feel the pelvis stretching and my arms felt tired after holding me through the first 4 sets of 60-second stretching & 60-second resting.
For the 5th set, I rested for 2 mins and it did make some difference in the final split.
So, it seems that the first set is usually the weakest set as the thighs are just getting used to the stretch.
As the sets increase, so does the perception that I'm getting closer to the ground.
After the session, I also completed another 3 sets of the butterfly pose.
Informal Sessions
I didn't perform a lot of informal splits today as the thighs are aching and it doesn't seem like there's progress.
Also, due to my busy schedule today and an unplanned sleep session, I ended up not completing a second training session today.
But on waking up around midnight, I noticed the muscle aches gone; so, it seemed that the resting period I gave them throughout the day helped.
With the aches gone, I warmed up with the help of the video above and I completed 2 informal sets, just to stretch them and I definitely felt some progress as I could feel the pelvis stretching again.
So, I think I won't be completing two training sessions daily in order to give the muscles some resting period.
I have to accomplish this goal within this timeframe; my sanity depends on it!
So, see you tomorrow.
