Day 6 - Middle Splits Challenge
I'm all excited to succeed on this challenge.
Sunday, Day 6, started quite slow as my thighs are beginning to ache from all the stretching they've been exposed to over the last few days.
Nonetheless, I knew I had a challenge I needed to train for; so, I began warming up as usual.
The Training
As usual, I warmed up with 3 sets of butterfly pose with 15-lbs weight disc on each thigh.
Afterwards, I did some dynamic horse stance.
Then, I started the training.
The Experience
I stayed as low as I could for 60 seconds after which I rested for 60 seconds before starting the next set.
For the 5th/final set, I rested for 2 mins to give my body more recovery energy.
Once done, I stretched my back as well
Then, I completed another 3 sets of the butterfly pose.
Afterwards, I took a video of my splits to compare it to Day 1; yup, there's progress between those days.
Informal Sessions
I try to practise my splits anywhere there's an opportunity to spread my legs.
My butt is almost touching a yoga block I put between my thighs to gauge how low I'm to the ground; the yoga block is about 10 inches long.
The goal seems so close and yet, so far.
I also found this video, from which I've started incorporating some warm exercises:
I completed a second routine of training later in the evening and before bedtime, completed some more warm-ups as well as splits check.
