Day 28 - Middle Splits Challenge

2 days left until this challenge is over; I'm already having mixed feelings on this.

Anyways, I was able to attend the gym today where I spent significant time working on my shoulders, hamstrings, and glutes.

This helped with my warm-up drills, which I started as soon as I got home.

The Training

Since I was already warmed up, I didn't spend too much time on warming up.

I still completed most of the warm-up drills; however, I didn't spend too much time on each.

Within 10 mins, I was ready for the session.

The Experience

1st set was as expected, slightly painful as the muscles begin to open up.

2nd set was much better as I began to push down.

3rd, 4th, and 5th sets were tough as expected, with sweats gushing down.

After the 5th set, I still had the energy; also, I felt that additional sets would have helped as I felt the muscles responding more the longer the sets lasted.

After the session was over, I rested for 60 seconds and started the front splits.

I completed 2 sets of the front splits; I could be wrong but it seemed that the front splits seem to be helping the middle splits muscles as well.

The muscles are being stretched forward & backward as well as from left to right; this is much better than just the left & right stretches.

Anyway, after the front splits, I completed the headstand.

While on the headstand, I started incorporating backbends; boy, my back was stiff!

Once done with headstand, I completed another chest-to-wall handstand, holding for about 40 - 60 seconds.

Informal Sessions

I only completed wide leg horse stances as well as hamstring drills.

No further splits were completed.

I've started formulating how to make the next challenge work well; more details will come later.

See you tomorrow.
