Day 26 - Middle Splits Challenge

Today was Saturday and as usual, it was a lounging day.........except that it wasn't.

Because my wife was available today to watch the kids, I was able to wake up early for a walk & bike around the lake.

When I got back (after about 8-mile walking & biking), I was quite tired and knew that if I didn't complete it right away, I wasn't gonna get it done today.

So, I began the training.

The Training

Started with the usual warm-up drills, followed by some butterfly poses. I ended with some hamstring and glute stretches.

I was ready.

The Experience

In absence of the pressure of meeting the goal in 30 days, the sessions actually seemed more interesting.

The muscles, although a little sore, weren't as tense as they used to be (when sore).

As usual, the 1st and 2nd sets were the hardest; by the 3rd set, I really could feel the glutes & hip flexors opening up.

Also, because I was more upright, I felt I could push down more......and I did.

4th and 5th sets were completed in their normal fashion; sweating profusely, I pushed on.

I felt I could still complete more sets, but I was out of time; so, I rested and jumped on the front splits.

After the front splits, I completed the headstand.

Informal Sessions

I was out with kids for the rest of the day; so, I didn't have any informal session for the rest of the day.

This challenge completes in 4 days and while I'm looking forward to its completion, I plan to continue with the goal; one of these days, I will have my very own middle splits.

See you tomorrow.
