Day 20 - Middle Splits Challenge
Happy new week, everyone!
Yesterday, I didn't get to complete my splits training session until afternoon, after church service.
I also reduced the amount of informal session stretches over the weekend; basically, I just did a few warm-ups & hamstring stretches, nothing to strain the muscles.
The Training
When it was time, I began warming up with my usual exercises.
I also included some straddle lifts as well as butterfly poses.
The Experience
The funny thing today was that my muscles actually responded to today's stretches.
Not sure if it was because of the rests I've been giving them or because the session was completed in the afternoon, I didn't feel the tightness I have been having over the last few days.
I was able to press down and stay longer on my heels.
After the 5th set, I rested for 60 seconds and then, started front splits stretching.
About 45 - 60 seconds stretches on each leg, I completed 2 sessions on each leg.
My left hip flexor felt tighter than the right; so, I may need some additional warm-up exercises to open the left thigh.
Informal Sessions
None!
I continue to warm-up and flex the legs, but nothing strenuous or crazy as in the past.
We'll see if the additional rest I've been having helps.
